Birth, Death, Domestic Partnership & Marriage Certificates

The Registrar of Vital Statistics is charged with recording, maintaining, and making available all records of birth,marriage, deaths, and domestic partnership occurring in the Borough of Allentown.  Copies of the following records may be obtain from the Registrar's Office if the birth, death, domestic partnership or marriage occurred in the Borough of Allentown.   Each certified copy is $10.00 payable to Allentown Borough.  Copies may be obtained in person or call 609-259-3151 for information on obtaining copies through the mail.    
 
Marriage License: If the couple getting married resides in the Borough of Allentown or are both from outside the State of New Jersey and are getting married in the Borough of Allentown, then the couple applies for their license in the Borough of Allentown.  P.L. 2022, c. 23, signed by Governor Murphy on June 30th, waives license fees for marriages and civil unions from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
 
Please call to make an appointment. The couple applying for the license and a witness 18 years of age or older, who knows the couple at least 6 months, must appear together at the Registrar's Office to apply for the marriage license. Payments for marriage licenses are made in cash. Marriage licenses are valid for thirty days and can be picked up three days after the application is complete.

If you are from outside the State of New Jersey and are getting married at Ashford Estates, then you need to contact the Upper Freehold Township Registrar's Office to apply for your license. If you are getting married at Ashford Estates, then you need to contact the Upper Freehold Township Registrar's Office to pick up your marriage certificate.
