The Borough of Allentown invites residents from Allentown and the surrounding communities to attend an important educational seminar focused on protecting retired and elderly community members from financial crimes and scams.

Detective Debra Bassinder of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office will lead this informative presentation, sharing practical guidance on how to recognize and avoid common forms of fraud that disproportionately impact seniors.

Topics covered will include:

• Romance scams

• Technology-related scams

• Fraudulent property deed transfers

Detective Bassinder is a member of the Financial Crimes & Public Corruption Unit and has spent years investigating and prosecuting financial crimes against the public. Through this seminar, she aims to empower residents with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and their loved ones.
