Mayor Thomas C. Fritts presented John P. Fabiano with a proclamation for his many years of service to Allentown, Upper Freehold and Monmouth County.

Allentown's John Fabiano was honored at the October 28th Borough Council meeting.

PROCLAMATION HONORING JOHN P. FABIANO

    WHEREAS, as a resident of Allentown, John P. Fabiano has been active in efforts to
preserve the local history of his hometown and the surrounding area; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano has served as Past President of the Allentown Upper
Freehold Historical Society, Allentown Borough Historian, and Chairman of the Allentown
Historic Preservation Commission; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano was a trustee of the Allentown Public Library, where he
continues to generously donate his time; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano has been active in the preservation of the Old Yellow
Meeting House in Upper Freehold Township, where he has delivered presentations on various
topics such as “Molly Pitcher” and the history of Allentown; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano is recognized as an advocate for protecting the designations
of the Allentown Historic District and Imlaystown Historic District on the National Register of
Historic Places; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano served as the Executive Director of the Monmouth County Historical Commission from 2014 to 2023, administering historic preservation grants and
managing “A Weekend in Old Monmouth,” an annual two-day event during which more than 50 Monmouth County historic sites open their doors to visitors and waive admission fees; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano’s contributions to preserving Monmouth County’s history—particularly its Revolutionary War era heritage—are numerous; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano has served as a trustee of the Friends of Monmouth
Battlefield and as treasurer of the Washington Crossing American Revolution Round Table; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano was co-editor of Allen’s Town, New Jersey: A Crossroads
of the American Revolution
; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano has been instrumental in preserving Monmouth County’s
history, particularly the beautiful western region of the County; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Fabiano was named this year’s Jane G. Clayton Award winner in recognition of his major contributions to the preservation and understanding of Monmouth
County history;

    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by Mayor Thomas C. Fritts, on behalf of the Borough Council of the Borough of Allentown, New Jersey, that John P. Fabiano be celebrated
and commended for his many talents, accomplishments, and lifelong dedication to preserving the history of Allentown, Upper Freehold, and Monmouth County.
