Music, Art & History Highlight TAVI250 Celebration on September 12
Mark your calendar for the afternoon of September 12th, when TAVI's inaugural PorchFest brings music, art, and history to Main Street from noon to 4 p.m. As part of TAVI250, the community's year-long celebration of America's 250th birthday, this free event invites visitors to experience the charm and creativity of historic Allentown.
Local musicians will perform on front porches throughout Main Street while local artists showcase their work at participating homes. As you explore, be sure to read the fascinating history of each house, available at every location.
Start your visit at TAVI's Welcome Table, where you can pick up a map and performance schedule. Self-guided walking tours will also be available, allowing visitors to discover Allentown's beautiful historic architecture, visit its cemeteries, and learn about the town's role in the Underground Railroad.
While you're here, enjoy Downtown Allentown's unique boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and small businesses. Stroll from porch to porch to hear live music, meet local artists, uncover stories from the past, and soak up the welcoming spirit of small-town Americana.
PorchFest is the latest event in TAVI250, a year-long celebration of America's Semiquincentennial. Special thanks go to the generous Main Street homeowners who are opening their front porches to performers and visitors alike.
