The Millstone Alliance expands prevention efforts to Allentown.
With the start of the new State and County funding period in July, the Millstone Alliance has partnered with Allentown Boro to bring prevention programming and outreach to schools and residents there.
Current Millstone Alliance Coordinator Helen Varvi will work with law enforcement, the Upper Freehold Regional School District and local groups to share important prevention messages and bring proven effective programs to the community. She was the Coordinator for the Allentown/Upper Freehold Alliance from 1991 to 1998. Programs coming to Allentown include Life Skills Training for 6th graders at Stone Bridge Middle School, the STEP Parenting Program and WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education). All of these programs are being offered in Millstone Township as well.
The new name for this joint effort will be the Millstone/Allentown Prevention Alliance. The Alliance is always looking for new volunteers to support important prevention efforts. If you are interested in learning more about this program, reach out to millstonealliance@gmail.com or 732-446-4249, ext. 3106. An Alliance meeting schedule will be posted shortly.
