Monmouth County's Office on Aging was established by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners in 1975 and utilizes federal, state, and county funds to develop programs and partnerships to deliver essential services to the seniors of Monmouth County.

The Office on Aging is the primary planning, coordinating and funding agency for senior programs and services, promoting the well-being, health and independence of Monmouth County’s older adults. The Office targets especially those vulnerable and in greatest social and economic need.

As the lead agency for the Monmouth County’s Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), the Division helps older adults, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities over the age of 18, access the complex, long-term care, community-based, health and human services.

The Monmouth County Office on Aging conducted its 2023 Needs Assessment survey which was open to the public from July 1 thru August 31.  Of the 307 responses, the top 5 services that Monmouth County Division on Aging should prioritize if funding was reduced or eliminated are: Transportation, Personal & In-home Care Services, Home Repairs & Accessibility Modifications, Senior Centers & Home Delivered Meals.  The full needs assessment is posted below.

Candace Sparks from Monmouth ACTS (Assisting Community Through Services) spoke about their role as it relates to the needs of Early Childhood Success, Positive Youth Development, Successful Aging, Homelessness, Transportation, Financial Empowerment, Behavioral Health & Communications.  Their group works in tandem with the Office on Aging.

The Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey are promoting their Healthy Hop Transportation program, which is a free transportation service for seniors aged 60 & older to their medical appointments.  Now the service will be extended across county borders.  Eligibility & limits are detailed on their brochure below.

New 2023 income limits & eligibility for both PAAD, Senior Gold & NJ Medicare Savings Programs  are now available. See below.
